This medication is a broad spectrum of antifungal medicine. It is also used to treat vaginal infections. The tablet relieves symptoms such as burning, itching, cracking of the skin and discomfort caused by the infection. It limits the production of ergosterol, an important component of the fungal cell membrane.
Disruption in the production of ergosterol leads to the development of holes in the membrane and leakage of cell components. Hence, it results in the death of the bacteria. The medication is probably safe to use by pregnant and breastfeeding women. Avoid the medication if you have a known history of allergy to it.
